The historical society will be staffing a special booth in the air-conditioned Art Hall building on the fairgrounds from noon until 8 p.m. daily during the 168th edition of the Butler County Fair, July 22-28. This year’s fair is a week-long celebration of the county’s agricultural heritage, local arts, crafts and farm production.
Major portions of the historical society’s exhibit which was in the Worthington Room of the Ohio State House from early January through July 9 will be displayed in the booth. Come visit it to see the story of the agricultural and industrial history of the county as well as some of the historical organizations and sites in the county. Many historical artifacts will also be on view.
People are invited to guess what the historical items in our popular “Mystery Item” contest are, learn about membership in the society, or just talk about Butler County history. We also will have our bookstore in the booth so people can take a look at the local history books available for purchase.
